April
01/04/09 - 1st trout for Oliver Baksh from Newcastle, a 2lbs rainbow from Dalgheal Lochan.
15/04/09 - 12 brownies to 1¼ lbs for Drew and Jim Logie from Inverness, fishing Loch Eye.
27/04/09 - 1st salmon of the season, a beautiful 11lbs sea-liced springer from Upper Fairburn, River Conon.

May
08-09/05/09 - 1st trout each for Pete, Dave and father Ian Trollope.
11/05/09 - 1st salmon of the season caught on the Novar beats, River Alness, by Nick Munro Ferguson, a cracking springer of 12+ lbs.
16/05/09 - Just 2 brownies to Davy Brand from Munlochy fishing Loch Eye, but what fish - 3¼ lbs and 2½ lbs!
19/05/09 - 9 brownies to 1¾ lbs caught by Jim and Caroline Henderson fishing Loch Eye for the first time.
27/05/09 - personal best brown trout of 2lbs caught by Nick Munro Ferguson on Loch Eye.

June
01-05/06/09 – First TroutQuest led trip to Orkney, fishing Harray, Boardhouse, Hundland and Swannay. Difficult conditions starting with very hot/very bright sunshine, then changing to cold north easterly winds. Despite this a great trip and 90 brownies caught by our Orkney team, the best this fish of 1¾ lbs caught by Peter Hukins on Swannay.
08/06/09 – Personal best rainbow of 3½ lbs to Douglas Grant
20/06/09 – First sea trout of the season caught off the Novar beats, River Alness by Nick Munro Ferguson (2 more caught on the 25th).
20/06/09 – A fine evening basket of 6 brownies from Loch Eye, all between 1lb and 1¼ lbs.
22/06/08 – An excellent brownie of 2½ lbs caught by Mr Rae from our boat on Loch Eye.
28/06/09 – First trout for James & Tim Parkinson from Suffolk.

July
03/07/09 - 12 brownies including a fabulous trout of 4 lbs to John Campbell and Bob Smart fishing Loch Eye.
03/07/09 - 23 brownies to 1¼ lbs caught by the "WWW's" - Alan Drury, Phil Worsley and Ken Cocksedge fishing large sedge patterns on Loch Beinne Moire.
07/07/09 - 1st trout for Max, Alex and Rachel Clissold (rainbows from the lochan and brownies from the Alness).
08/07/09 - 34 brownies up to 1½ lbs to Phil Done and myself fishing a mayfly hatch on Loch Caol, Caithness from the Forsinard hotel. Hats off to Phil who accounted for the majority.
18/07/09 - 18 brownies to Stuart Inglis and friends fishing Loch Morie.
18/07/09 - 1st salmon for Amelia Busk, an 8 lbs fish from the River Alness.
22/07/09 - 1½ lbs sea trout to Alan Booth from the Alness.
24/07/09 - 1st salmon for Kenny Fuchter, a 10 lbs salmon from the River Alness - what a first fish! Followed up with a 6 lbs grilse on the 25th.

August
15/08/09 – 1¾ lbs brownie to Lewis Ross from Loch Eye.
23/08/09 – 1st salmon for Felicity Campbell, a 4½ lbs grilse from Novar Beat 3 on the Alness.
26/08/09 – 3 grilse to David Wells from Hereford caught on Beat 4.
28/08/09 – 3 grilse to Alan Shearer from Orkney caught on Novar Beat 5.
28/08/09 – 1st salmon for Ian Talbot, a 9½ lbs fish from Novar Beat 2 on the Alness.
29/08/09 – 1st salmon for Vicky Talbot, a 5 lbs grilse from Novar Beat 4 on the Alness.
29/08/09 – A personal best for Derwent Campbell from Bath, with a 13 lbs salmon also from Novar beat 4, which took 35 minutes to land in high water.
31/08/09 – 1st salmon for Toby Mather, a 3½ lbs grilse from Beat 4 on the Alness.
31/08/09 – 3 salmon & grilse to Alan Watson from Inverness including a fish of 12 lbs caught on Novar Beat 6.

September
05/09/09 - Best salmon of the season to date from the Novar Beats caught by Mrs Pease, a 16 lbs fish from Beat 1. Fishing partner Lord Shuttleworth was also into the ‘big ones’ with a 13 lbs fish from the same beat.
07/09/09 - 1st salmon for Roddy Neilson, a 2½ lbs grilse from Beat 3.
07/09/09 - 1st salmon for James Parker, a 5 lbs grilse from Beat 3.
07/09/09 – 3 grilse for Grant Gibson from Northampton, fishing Novar Beat 3, River Alness.
08/09/09 – 3 grilse for Andrew Goodge from Aberdeenshire, fishing Novar Beat 3.
12/09/09 - 1st salmon for Anne Parker, a 2½ lbs grilse from Beat 5.
18/09/09 – 1st salmon for Bill Little, a 5¾ lbs grilse from Beat 5.
18/09/09 – 3 salmon & grilse to Mick Spencer from London including a fish of 12 lbs caught on Novar Beat 2.
19/09/09 - 1st salmon for Jim Henderson, a 5 lbs grilse from Beat 4.
25/09/09 – A 10lbs salmon and a 1½ lbs brown trout to Rolf Bürgi from Switzerland fishing Novar Beat 6.
30/09/09 – 1st salmon for Paul Collins, a 5¾ lbs grilse from Beat 5.

October
05/10/09 - 1st salmon for Chris Phillips, a 7 lbs fish from Beat 4.
06/10/09 - 1st salmon for Nick Monaghan from Birmingham, a 7 lbs fish from Beat 2.
09/10/09 - 3 grilse for Sam Hatfield fishing Novar Beat 2.
09/10/09 - 1st salmon for Mel Scott from Portugal a 3 lbs grilse from Beat 1.
10/10/09 – The end to a fabulous week for Peter Hukins and Nick FitzGerald, which saw them land 23 salmon & grilse between them and each achieving a Novar Fishings Grand Slam – catching at least one fish every day and therefore at least one fish from each of the 6 rotating beats – outstanding!
14/10/09 – First salmon for 9-year old August Smidth from Denmark, a 6lbs grilse from Beat 4.
22/10/09 – First salmon each for Paul Lorenz and Stefan Trobos from Austria, Stefan going on to take his 2nd and 3rd later in the day – all caught on Novar Beat 4, River Alness.
28/10/09 - 3 grilse for Sandy Datta from Wick, fishing Novar Beat 5.
29/10/09 - 1st salmon for Tara Hurn from Ross-shire, a 6 lbs grilse from Beat 4.
30/10/09 - 3 grilse for David Hook from Gloucestershire, fishing Novar Beat 4, River Alness.
31/10/09 - A 10lbs salmon for Graham Shepherd from Wick fishing Novar Beat 3. Graham also had a 4-fish day earlier in the week!
