Catches June 2010

June Highlights

A fantastic month: 359 brown trout (Loch Eye fished particlarly well producing many 2lbs+ fish), 10 spring salmon, 12 rainbows and 1 sea trout.

05/06/10 - 7 brown trout up to 2 1/2lbs to Tony & Mel Scott from Portugal fishing Loch Eye.

10/06/10 - A red letter day for local Jackie Smart with 4 superb spring salmon of 15lbs, 12 1/2lbs, 12lbs & 10lbs and a brownie of 1 1/2lbs caught from Beat 2, Novar Fishings, River Alness in high water!

12/06/10 - A cracking 14lbs springer to Nick Munro Ferguson fishing Beat 6, River Alness.

13/06/10-17/06/10 - TroutQuest's 2nd annual excursion to Orkney. 239 brown trout up to 2lbs 6oz caught on Lochs Harray, Hundland, Boardhouse & Swannay by this year's Orkney team comprising Ian Moutter, Bill Little, Philip Sharnock, Nick Benson and David Willis. Philip ended up as 'top rod' boating 70 fish! Meanwhile.....

16/06/10 - 4 excellent brownies from Beat 1, River Alness caught by Jackie Smart - 2 1/2lbs, 1 3/4lbs and 2 @ 1lb.

18/06/10 - Another red letter day, this time on Loch Eye - 14 superb brown trout shared by Bob & Wendy Brown staying on Sallachy Estate. These included 11 fish around 1 1/2 to 2lbs, and a one superb fish over the 3lbs mark. Apparently Wendy lost an even bigger one...!

24/06/10 - 13 brownies to my rod from Loch Eye up to 2lbs 10oz (research & development!).

26/06/10 - 1st trout apiece to Rachel Mallia and Elaine Agius from Malta on a 'Learn to Fly Fish' break.

30/06/10 - 1st ever brown trout and then 6 more for Randy Casson from Canada, fishing Loch Eye. All super fish ranging from 1 1/4 lbs to 2 1/2lbs!
